The world's first! INEOS successfully develops recyclable flexible film

Recently, the flexible packaging film trial production line of INEOS Olefins and Polymers Europe has been successfully debugged, becoming the world's first polymer producer to successfully debug a trial production line. The project has invested millions of euros and can reduce 1 million tons of landfill waste annually.

The multi-layer blown film production line is equipped with MDO equipment (longitudinal stretching machine), installed at the R&D center of INEOS in Brussels, Belgium. Customers do not need to occupy their own production line to conduct full-size restoration testing at the INEOS R&D center. The first collaborative project has been launched, and the newly developed film products can be directly used on the customer's production line.

Flexible films are lightweight and have lower carbon emissions, making them suitable for transporting goods and extending the shelf life of food. At present, multi-layer packaging film products on the market are synthesized from multiple layers of polymer materials with different functions, which are often difficult to recycle. Producing film products with the same production performance but simpler synthesis means that packaging bags will be easier to recycle, thus meeting the regulatory requirements of the EU's Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulations.

Fully recyclable films are a significant development, and we look forward to the possibilities created by investing in this new MDO production line.

This advanced technology is provided by Germany's Alpine, which can heat and stretch polymer films, improve their physical properties and barrier properties, and be applied to different products.
